What is The Princeton Hot Seat?

The Princeton Hot Seat is a new recurring photo blog to highlight the transient nature of the rowing community in the Princeton, New Jersey area.  It's open to anyone directly involved with the sport of rowing that comes to Princeton on rowing "business".  Could be rowers, coxswains, coaches, boatmen, officials, etc.

How does the Hot Seat Work?

Each subject gets four questions to answer, the first of which is simply, why are you here (in Princeton)?  Then the subject randomly draws the remaining three from a pool of pre-determined questions, of which half are rowing related, half are not...and can be pretty random.  They get one pass.

On the Hot Seat today is Pan Am Games gold medalist in the women's pair, Molly Bruggeman.

Princeton Hot Seat - Why are you in Princeton?

Molly Bruggeman - I am in Princeton to train with the US national team and hopefully make the team one day!

PHS - What is your favorite body of water that you've rowed on?

MB - I really like Oak Ridge.  You can row forever, it has a great course, and it's beautiful there.

PHS - If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

MB - Professional rower for sure!  Second place would be a taste tester for Ben and Jerry's.  Both are great options!

PHS - What is your ideal pre-race or pre-workout meal?

MB - Ideal and what I usual eat are pretty different.  If it's a morning race, then it's oatmeal with walnuts and almond milk in it.  If it's an AM2 workout or race, then it's a Wawa 4-inch Shorti on wheat, with turkey, cheese, spinach, and onion.  Then coffee of course, that's my go to!
